Southern Realty Advisors has roots that extend back to the mid 1970’s as Fidelity Management & Investment Corporation. FMIC was formed in 1975 as a professional real estate asset management, marketing and property management company providing services to a stellar list of institutional clients, including The Philadelphia National Bank, National Life of Vermont, New York Life Insurance Company, Dime Savings Bank, Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company and Home Life Insurance Company. Originally founded by Robert Holbrook and Christopher Kliros, FMIC began to evolve into a broad spectrum real estate investment and development company when it began acquiring and developing commercial real estate for their own account.
By 1987, FMIC had transformed into FMI Holdings and became one of the leading real estate investment, development and real estate advisory companies in the Southeast with five divisions organized specifically for investment, development and management of office properties, retail shopping centers, hotels and multifamily communities. FMI Holdings’ demonstrated success lead to real estate investment partnerships with national institutions including GE Capital, Merrill Lynch/Hubbard, New York Life Insurance Company, Allstate Insurance Company, Home Life Insurance Company, Westinghouse Credit Corporation, Equity Planning and The Citizens and Southern National Bank (now Bank of America).
In the 1990’s, FMI began a process to convert the real estate assets into capital and realization of investment benefits. This process ultimately resulted in the formation of Southern Realty Advisors. Today Southern Realty Advisors continues to provide real estate investment advisory services, real estate asset management, marketing and property management expertise to a variety of institutions and private investment companies.
